Terms of service

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms govern your use of kalvejewellery.com and any purchase you make from it. They are written mainly for consumers, meaning people buying for personal use. Nothing in them takes away rights that the law gives you as a consumer. Please read them together with our shipping policy, our refund policy, our returns and exchanges page and our privacy policy.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by, and goods are sold by:

  • MB Kalvė, a company registered in Lithuania, company code 307413990
  • Registered address: Adomo Mickevičiaus gatvė 38, Vilnius, 06292, Lithuania
  • E-mail: hello@kalvejewellery.com

In these terms, “we” and “us” mean MB Kalvė, and “you” means the person using the website or placing an order. Our store runs on Shopify’s platform. Shopify provides the technology, but the seller is always MB Kalvė.

2. Using the website

You may browse the website freely. To place an order you must be at least 18 years old. By placing an order you confirm that the information you give us is accurate and complete.

Please do not use the website for anything unlawful, try to interfere with its security or operation, copy or collect its content by automated means, or use it to send us harmful code. We may suspend access if the website is misused. Information on the website is provided in good faith, and we correct errors when we find them.

3. Our products

We make jewellery in sterling silver, some of it set with Baltic amber. We describe and photograph each piece as accurately as we can, but a few things are worth knowing before you order.

  • Amber is natural. Every piece of amber differs in colour, clarity, markings and inclusions, and no two are identical. The amber in your piece may differ a little from the one in the photograph. This is a feature of the material and not a defect.
  • Colours and sizes on screen. Screens show colours differently, and images may be enlarged to show detail. Dimensions and sizes on the product page are the reference. A size guide is provided where relevant.
  • Care. Jewellery lasts longest when it is looked after. Our care guidance explains how.

We may change or withdraw a product from the website at any time. This does not affect an order that we have already confirmed.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in euro (EUR). Prices include value-added tax (VAT) where VAT applies to your order. The total you pay, including any delivery charge, is shown at checkout before you confirm your order. Whether import duties or taxes apply to your destination, and who pays them, is stated in our shipping policy and at checkout before you pay.

Payment is taken when you place your order, using the methods shown at checkout, which may include payment cards, Shop Pay and PayPal. Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment providers named at checkout. We do not receive your full card details.

We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already confirmed. If a price is clearly wrong, for example because of a visible typing error, we will tell you before dispatch and offer you the choice of confirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it with a full refund.

5. Orders and your contract with us

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our automatic e-mail saying that we have received the order is not yet acceptance. The contract between you and us is concluded when we send you an order confirmation e-mail, which we do once payment has been authorised. We may decline an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if we suspect fraud, or if the delivery address is outside the area we serve. If we do, we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

Before you pay, the checkout shows you the main features of the goods, the total price and the delivery charge, so that you can check and correct your order. After your order we send you a confirmation containing these details and a copy of the information about your right to withdraw. The contract is made in English. Please keep the confirmation e-mail for your records.

6. Delivery

Our shipping policy sets out where we deliver, the carriers we use, the delivery charges, and the processing and delivery times. Unless we agree a different date with you, we will deliver without undue delay and at the latest within 30 days of the day the contract is concluded.

Please give us a complete and correct delivery address and a working contact number or e-mail address. If we cannot deliver because the details were wrong or no one was available to receive the parcel, we may charge reasonable costs for a second delivery attempt, in line with the law.

Risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you when you, or a person you have named, receive them. Please check the parcel on delivery and tell us at once if it is damaged or something is missing.

7. Cancelling, withdrawing and returning

Your statutory right to withdraw

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The period starts on the day you receive the goods, or the last item if you ordered several that arrive separately. To withdraw, tell us clearly that you wish to do so, for example by e-mail to hello@kalvejewellery.com with your order number, or by using the withdrawal function on our website where it is offered. You can send the message at any time before the 14 days end. We can send you the EU model withdrawal form on request, but you do not have to use it.

After you withdraw, you must send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us. The practical steps, including who pays for the return shipping, are explained on our returns and exchanges page. We refund the price paid, and the standard delivery charge, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us you are withdrawing; we may wait until the piece has reached us or you have shown proof that you sent it back, whichever is earlier. The refund is made to the payment method you used for the order. You are responsible for any reduction in the value of the goods caused by handling beyond what is needed to check what they are and how they look.

Our 30-day return window

In addition to the statutory 14 days, we offer a voluntary return window of 30 days from the day you receive your order, on the conditions set out on our returns and exchanges page and in our refund policy. This is a service we offer on top of your legal rights. It does not shorten or replace them. For an ordinary return within this window, we refund within 10 business days after we receive and check the piece.

Consumers outside the European Union have the rights the law of their own country gives them, and our return window applies to them as well.

8. Legal guarantee and Kalvė warranty

Your legal guarantee

As a consumer in the European Union, you are protected by a legal guarantee. We must deliver goods that match their description, are fit for their normal use and are free from defects that existed at the time of delivery. If a lack of conformity appears within two years of delivery, you are entitled to have the goods brought into conformity by repair or replacement. If that is not possible, or we do not do it within a reasonable time, you may ask for a price reduction or end the contract and receive a refund. These rights come from the law, they are free of charge to you, and nothing in these terms or in any of our other pages limits them.

Normal wear that comes with use over time is not in itself a lack of conformity.

Our own warranty

We also offer our own Kalvė warranty. It is described in the Warranty section of our returns and exchanges page, which we do not repeat here. The Kalvė warranty is given in addition to your legal guarantee and does not reduce it.

9. Personalised items

If we offer engraving, resizing to your measurements or other made-to-order work, we will say so on the product page, together with any special conditions. Under EU consumer law the right to withdraw does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Where that exception applies, we will state it before you pay. Your legal guarantee still applies if a personalised item has a defect or does not match what you ordered.

10. Gift cards

If we sell gift cards, the following applies, together with any further details given when you buy one.

  • A gift card is delivered by e-mail as a code. The buyer is responsible for passing it on to the person it is meant for.
  • It can be used to pay for goods on this website, in whole or in part. If an order costs more than the balance, you pay the difference with another payment method. An unused balance stays on the card.
  • The validity period is shown at purchase and in the gift card e-mail. A gift card cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be used to buy another gift card, except where the law says otherwise.
  • Please treat the code like cash. We are not responsible for a code that is lost, or shared with someone else, unless the law makes us responsible.
  • If you return an item that was paid for with a gift card, we refund the amount to the card rather than to a bank account.

11. Customer accounts

You can order without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used them. You can ask us to close your account at any time at hello@kalvejewellery.com. Closing an account does not affect an order already placed.

12. Intellectual property and your content

The Kalvė name and logo, the designs, photographs, text and other content on this website belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the website and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not copy, reproduce, sell or adapt our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

If you send us a review, photograph or message and agree that we may publish it, you confirm that you have the right to share it. You allow us to use it, without payment, on our website and in our marketing, and you can ask us to remove it later by writing to us. We may decline to publish content that is unlawful, misleading or offensive.

13. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage that you suffer as a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was made, for loss caused by your misuse of the goods, or for loss caused by events described in section 14.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury, for intentional wrongdoing, for gross negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights as a consumer under the legal guarantee in section 8.

If you buy from us for business rather than personal purposes, our liability for loss of profit or indirect loss is excluded to the extent the law allows, and our total liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, except in the cases described in the previous paragraph.

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content.

14. Events beyond our control

Neither you nor we are responsible for a delay or failure to meet an obligation if it is caused by an event that could not reasonably be foreseen or controlled, such as a natural disaster, strike, war, public-authority action, failure of the postal or transport network, or a serious interruption of internet or payment services. The affected party must tell the other as soon as reasonably possible and continue to perform once the event ends. If a delivery is delayed for a long time, you may cancel the order and we will refund what you have paid. This section does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

15. Your personal information

We use your personal information as explained in our privacy policy, which forms part of how we handle every order.

16. Governing law, complaints and disputes

Governing law

These terms and any contract between you and us are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you normally live.

If something goes wrong

Please write to us first at hello@kalvejewellery.com, quoting your order number and describing the problem. We will reply in writing, promptly and within the time required by law, and we will try to find a fair solution.

Out-of-court dispute resolution

If we cannot agree, and you are a consumer, you can take your complaint to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority of Lithuania (Valstybinė vartotojų teisių apsaugos tarnyba, vvtat.lt), which handles consumer disputes outside the courts. Residents of other EU countries can also use the approved consumer dispute resolution body in their own country; the European Commission publishes a list of these bodies on its Consumer Redress website. The European Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and can no longer be used. We are willing to take part in out-of-court procedures of this kind.

Courts

The courts of the Republic of Lithuania have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and nothing in this section removes that right.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when our services or the law change. The version in force on the day you place an order applies to that order. A later change does not affect an order we have already confirmed. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last updated.
